VGSQ assists the journeys of incarcerated Veterans and their civilian supporters through the promotion of educational, pro-social, and recreational activities cultured through the military way of life.

VGSQ activates its mission through self-directed, self-help projects and events. VGSQ members work together collaboratively, building camaraderie while overcoming challenges to create moments that uplift Veterans and serve the larger San Quentin community.

Patriots' Day - 2025

VGSQ honored both the lives lost on 9/11, and those who were moved to serve. We were honored in turn by a visit from Veterans thru Buddy Bowl.

Fiesta de San Salvador - 2025

VGSQ provided Color Guard services for a multi-national flag ceremony to open San Quentin's first Fiesta de San Salvador.

Memorial Day - 2025

VGSQ commemorated the lives of those who have served and have now passed.
